Where Martial Arts Meet Healing
The connection between martial arts and healing arts runs deep in Chinese tradition, and Dr. Lee embodies this intersection perfectly. As co-founder of the Jow Ga Shaolin Institute, he has spent decades studying and teaching Chinese martial arts, including kung fu and taijiquan.
His martial background enhances his Spring Forest Qigong instruction, particularly in understanding how energy moves through the body and how proper posture and alignment affect qi flow. This integrated knowledge allows him to guide students with extraordinary precision and clarity.
A Life of Service
Dr. Lee’s commitment to helping others stems from his diverse life experiences, including his service as a U.S. Marine combat veteran. Understanding firsthand the importance of healing practices, he donates significantly to veterans’ charities and serves as a provider for the Military Stress Recovery Project and Veterans Administration’s Community Care Program.
His memoir, “Paths Less Travelled of a Scholar Warrior (Spy) Teacher Healer,” chronicles his remarkable journey and his mission to help others through Eastern healing arts. He has also co-authored “Yang Style Tai Ji Quan: A Beginner’s Guide,” sharing his expertise in traditional Chinese internal arts.
