Broadsword Form

Chen Tai Chi Broadsword (saber) is a classical Chinese martial arts weapon routine traditionally taught first in the Chen system. The form trains strength, power, speed, and fajin – the explosive force release characteristic of Chen style. Originally a 13-movement routine (十三刀 shi san dao) developed by 18th generation master Chen Zhao Pei, it evolved into today’s popular 22-movement form. Through broadsword training, practitioners deepen their mastery of the essential Chen Tai Chi principles of balancing soft/hard and slow/fast energies.

Master Ren Guangyi’s execution of the broadsword exemplifies these qualities, which Chi Force is proud to offer as a course like no other.
