Qigong & Nei Gong Online Class
Alan Bandes leads this class in qigong and nei gong. While both qigong and nei gong are practices that aim at cultivating and harnessing the body’s “life force” or energy we call qi or “chi”, there is a slight difference. Qigong is general term for energy cultivation while nei gong is a bit more focused on internal strength, breath and power. Both compliment each other. This class will alternate and at times combine these two related exercises.
The class alternates between these two syllabi.
Week A
- Review of alignment principles
- Breath, circular Breath and qi movement exercises
- Alignment for fundamental Tai Chi Standing Standing Mountain
- Silk Reeling (Chen Qigong) with principles of alignment, “Listen to you body” and qi Flow
- Wave Hands movement
Week B
- Alignment standing, bending principles
- Basic leg strengthening exercises
- Standing Mountain
- Playing the pi pa
- Silk reeling
- Stepping principles and exercises
- Wave hands
- Dragon rises from sea
- Phoenix rises
- Principles of safe knee bending
- Breath controlled knee bends
- Compass l/r
- Low leg stretch l/r
- Dantian breathing exercise
